When Annie had her "Outlaws", Dolly was the one who was totally white. Her pads were pink and her nose was pink. I fell in love with her. When she was a few days old, eyes weren't even open, I told Richard, "I want her". He said, "Katie, do you really want a 4th dog?" In my mind, I quickly answered, NO! But in my heart, I knew I wanted her. When she was 2 weeks old, I told Richard, "I love her. I want her." He said, ok and announced that she was not for sale. We had offers. Big offers. It's never been about the money. I knew I needed her in my life.
Dolly is my girl! When all of the puppies were here, anytime I approached the pen, Dolly stood on her hind legs and danced in excitement, "She's here!" She loves me so much. Such a great feeling.
One by one, all of the puppies went to their fur-ever homes and all of a sudden, I didn't have 19 piles of poop to clean up after, and I just knew that this puppy training with Dolly would be a breeze, because there's no separation anxiety to deal with. Right? Nope. Dolly missed her litter mates and even tho her mama and grandma Lucy are right here, she suddenly began waking up at 2am and 4am and 6am. It has been an adjustment, and we are still adjusting. Potty training is going very well. She has Annie and Lucy to help. Every day, something happens (yesterday she got ahold of Richard's $600 Ray-ban prescription glasses) and I ask, "what was I thinking?" and then I wake up today, not feeling so well, and see those big green eyes looking at me like I'm the greatest and I know what I was thinking... Puppy love!!
How's everybody else doing with their new puppy?
Doodle love,
Katie Scott
