About us
We are Richard and Katie Scott. We married and blended families in 2011. We have 6 adult children and 14 grandchildren. When we first married, Richard rescued Bentley, a 7 month old Poodle to keep Katie company. Richard, an avid duck and deer hunter, wanted a Labrador or a Golden Retriever, but Katie suffered from allergies, and a big dog had never been an option.
One day, we took Bentley to the dog park and he quickly made friends with the most adorable puppy we had ever seen. It was so soft and looked like a little teddy bear. Katie fell in love. The puppy's owner explained to them the benefits of a Goldendoodle. In addition to being virtually shed free, Goldendoodles don't interfere with mild pet dander allergies. WIN WIN More often than not, they're intelligent, obedient and extremely loving dogs. Goldendoodles love people and also get along great with other pets, and they tend to be patient and gentle with young children (Remember, we have 14 little grandkids)- making them a fantastic choice for families. Richard and Katie were sold.
We got Lucy shortly before Christmas 2016. She was everything we both dreamed of and more. When it came time to make the decision to spay Lucy, Katie asked Richard if we could breed her one time. Katie said "Every child should have a Lucy Doodle! Think about those kids who have allergies like me, and couldn't find a big ole loveable, allergen-friendly dog at the shelter.". We found her a mate and Lucy's Doodles was born.
We love our pups. Many of our puppies PAWrents send us updates and we LOVE IT!. We like to hear about their journey with their FURever families. A few have gone to families that had an allergy sufferer, one even went on to "Service animal training" and visits a children's hospital. Two went to neighbors and we get to see them often. There was one who followed Richard all the time. Katie told Richard they didn't need two big dogs and she was then adopted. One night Richard called Katie and told her that one of the PAWrents had called him and said she had to re-home her pup and asked if we could help. That was the puppy that followed Richard all the time!! We brought Annie HOME.
We aren't your average breeder. We donate a portion of the proceeds to a local animal rescue program. We want your puppy to be successful. Our puppies are integrated with children and other dogs when they leave us and are on their way in potty training.
We love Music. All of Lucy's Pups are "Lucy's Rock Stars". (She's had Volume I and Volume II, and early November we will have her "Final Tour")
Annie's a little more country: her Pups are "Annie's Outlaws"
We give the puppies "litter names" just for our own fun. The puppies do not know their litter names. We will call it what you want us to :)
We live in Western Kentucky. Bentley is now 10, Lucy is 4 and Annie is almost 2.

They answered all of our questions, accommodated us about meeting/pick up our puppy, and checked in once we got him home.
